The colored glass mosaic lamps, commonly called Tiffany lamps, are one of the most popular symbols of the so-called "Art Noveau", in the field of home furnishings and decoration of the rooms.
This style, also known in Italy as Liberty, was widely used during the 1920s in the United States and later in Europe.
Historically Tiffany lamps were born in the late 1800s from an idea of Louis Comfort Tiffany, son of the most famous Charles Lewis, cofounder of the famous jewelry company Tiffany & Co. Louis, from the age of 24, he became interested in the manufacture of objects artistic glass, and then founded in 1885 its own glass factory where he developed a process for the production of opalescent glass, making extensive reference to the ideals of the Arts and Crafts movement founded in England.
Among the main activities of his company there was the production of stained glass windows, an activity that gradually expanded, starting to produce a complete range of furnishing elements.
